Graph each system of equations and state its solution. Then state whether the system is consistent and independent, consistent and dependent, or inconsistent.

x + y = 6
x - y = -2

x + 1 = y
2x - 2y = 8

2x + 4 = 8
x + 2y = 4

x + y = 1
3x + 5y = 7

Thank you

Finding points to graph is easy.
Let's look at the first equation of the first problem: x+y=6.
When x is 0, y has to be 6.
When x is 1, y has to be 5.
And so on and so forth... just pick an x, and solve for y.

Similarly, for the second equation (x-y=-2),
When x is 0, y has to be 2.
When x is 1, y has to be 3.

You now have two points for each line, so you can graph them.

You can work out the rest on your own :-)

Bramblysp seems to have nailed it. I would only add that you can go to this site:

http://www.jcoffman.com/Algebra2/ch3_1.htm

to find simple and clear examples of each definition. Just in case your textbook/teacher has not explained it so you can understand. Hope this helps.
