No matter how careful you are or how many times you get it cleaned it always ends up looking spotty and a little embarrassing.
I just remind myself that it looks that way because we live in our house. Living leaves marks, every stain is a sign of life and a sign that we are lucky enough to have a home and a family to live in it.
Then I move the furniture to cover the really gross ones!!
(our's is cream too...well...was cream...now its kinda browny)

I don't have carpets! I have wooden floor straight through, i don't have to worry about dirt anymore, only that I'm constantly sweeping, hoovering, or mopping.... hahaha... If you saw the amount of dirt that collects on the floor , you would get rid of the carpet asap... I would never have a carpet again, it's shocking..... Wooden floor is soooo much cleaner, at least you can see where the dirt is, and i dont get the stress that you get from the stains.I would start saving now to replace it, get a rug to cover some of the carpet for now!!!! good luck!!!

We had a carpet for just two years and it had all sorts thrown over it. If they sucked the spills out we could have opened a brewery!!! Also my daughter cannot have a drink without spilling it. Even when we hoovered it it still looked dirty. We tried steam cleaning it a couple of times but it still looked grubby. We have just pulled it up and put wooden flooring down. If you cant afford to replace it, what about getting a cheap rug to put over the top?

I try not to look at my carpet :) Just walk around looking straight ahead!
This house is rented, so I can't do anything about the carpet. It isn't that bad really, just a little discoloured.
Have you tried using a steam cleaner?
One thing I've learnt - never buy cream carpet or sofas :)

Ahh welcome to my world lol!
I have 4 kids,(5 if you count my husband) 4 dogs and 2 cats and trying to keep it clean with that lot bringing in mud etc is a constant stress in my life.
When I have them replaced I'm going for dark brown so I can't see the stains lol.
Just place rugs over the offending areas so you can blissfully ignore it!

Mines brand new so I love it - but I daresay it won't stay like that for long!
I recommend buying a rug to cover the worst bits and you won't even notice!
