You can't watch TV on it if you don't have a TV-tuner card. So either get one or get a new PC.

If you are going to store a lot of vids and pics on the pc, 80gigs will probably not be a lot, doubling that would be nice with an external hard drive for example. Also if the 256MB is the RAM you have, getting more would make it possible for your pc to process things faster ( load things faster, not really needed for just watching movies and pictures) but for watching tv you wanna be close to 1 gig. All in all, a new one might be the better option

2.60 gHz is only your processors "Clock speed", so you truly need to state your "Front Side Bus" speed and I would have to guess, with a eMachine problably 133mHz to 256mHz at best.
256 Mb of RAM is very small and not knowing what kind of Motherboard you have, I'm willing to bet you crawl along. Also you need to know the Maximum amount of RAM that your BIOS will recognise. To upgrade.
I can only hope that your running at least "Windows 98 SE", but taking all of this and supposing that you fit this scenario, your probably better off getting a new "Puter".
May I suggest you contact a Friend that truly understands how Puters are put together and understands your needs there in and ask them to help you find a "High Speed", "Multimedia" rig. I would estimate that you will spend about $850.00 - $1500.00 for a decent Puter. Keep in mind that with proper care in choice, proper care and handling, alot of common sense, you should be able to get a Puter that will satisfy all your needs and be useful for a number of years.

256 ram is pretty low so you'd need at least a gig to watch tv, plus youd need a new vid card to accomodate TV plus a tv card...
so you need a couple of open slots on your MB. The 80 gig drive would fill up pretty quick too if you're going to be storing film and photo on your machine...
And you're starting off with an E-machine which aren't known for their super high quality parts (better than they used to be though). So.... you probably would be better off to just start over from scratch, but custom build a PC instead of just adding to the one you have.

i realized that ur RAM is very little and this is one of the few reasons that making ur comp slow..it can't run many programmes altogether ...if can upgrade RAM to perhaps 1 GB....it will b good...the more the RAM..it will be able to handle many applications together..
u can add extra RAM..can be found in market....
or u can a get a new comp with XP if u don't have XP..if can then get a comp that is windows vista capable.....i am sure u already know about it
feel free to e-mail me...if any doubt what i mentioned earlier...mim_dhaka@yahoo.com

you need more hdd space, as video takes alot...
you need a gig of ram to help with editing, your 2.6 processor isnt bad...
you need a 'capture' card with a tv tuner on it one that will let you plug composite - s-video - and cable (coax, like a vcr)
