I think it means he is gay but he feels like he acts like a straight guy. In other words, he can be "one of the guys" even though he is gay.

Don't get confused over this:As I understand it :it means that a gay guy behaves himself like a straight guy.
Therefor his sexual preference will not be noticed.
Makes him one of the regular dudes in the street.
One of the guys.
