Of course we can't just leave; we need to help pick up the broken pieces we created. What should our primary objective be in Iraq?

Does anyone have any speculation as to what Bush's new plan is that he will be releasing in a few days? Will he follow the Iraq study groups reccomendations?

I have a better question..what is our exit strategy for Germany and Japan? After all, the "war" with them ended in 1945, and we are STILL there. There have been as many American deaths after the "war" "officially" ended as there has been in Iraq. There have been 1500 or so American troops put in prison for various crimes against the German and Japanese people. Why don't we pull out now? Tonight? End this national nightmare of military occupation of Germany and Japan..the time has come. Okay, enough wisecracks. The Iraq Study Group should be ignored, period. The best possible course of action is to pull our troops out when the situation is stable enough to do it. The Iraqi people want us there right now, they need us. They have already had 3 or 4 elections, they are working on a constitution, they are getting a military force together, and they are getting along with each other very well. It is the TERRORISTS that are causing the problems in Iraq, not us. The biggest fear that the terrorists have is that a stable democracy will emerge in Iraq.

I have no idea what Bush is going to do. I have no idea what the Democrats want to do. But if we are going to leave Iraq soon we should go out via Iran and Syria, and get rid of the two biggest trouble makers in the Middle East on the way

The best plan is to get tough and win the war, in other words, take of the kidd gloves and hit them hard.

the best thing is to bring saddam back to life and put him back in charge... he had it under control... just like Tito had Yugoslavia together... that or smash the insurgents until they are dust... just like Saddam did, but since is "war" is valid... and then put in charge some british with iraqui blood and that will be it... another way is to just leave and see what happens... chaos finds its way in the cosmos... but what will may ended up happening is the US will wipe out the active insurgents buy out the rest and put up a "democracy" to then just pass the bill to the europeans... because once they get Turkey in the union... yeah thats their border...

Split Iraq into seperate Kurd, Sunni Arab & Shia countries. Help them fortify their borders. They will never live together in peace. Of course that means that the Sunni Arabs won't have any oil. Oh well, sucks for them.
