There are three common fin deceases that goldfish can get as well as other health problems that will effect the fin and tails.

There is a great site that has allot of info and pitchers of the conditions so it will be easier to tell whats going on. You can not blindly treat them if you treat them for the wrong thing they can die.

And you may have too many fish in the tand that can lead to decease as well the rule of thumb is one inch of fish / gallon and if the fish is thicker than one inch less that.

It is always better to have less fish to give them growing room.

On the beginning of this site they have credit cards and loans just go past that and click on goldfish info.

The site is

I hope this helps 8)

If the end of there tails are white fin rot. The pet store can help you out some fish drugs they will be fine You also my have to many fish for your tank 1 fish per gallon in the norm but gold fish are real dirty so 1 fish per 2 gallons is a good number.

First thing you need to do is get a new aquarium. You can try with salt water baths. Put your fish in salt water for half an hour. Watch the salt concentration. Your fish are sick. You need to cure them before they die. If you can't bye a new aquarium, replace all the water but don't wash your aquarium with very strong cleaning products.

it is fin rot, and you do NOT need to get a new tank or sterilize the old one, fungal antibiotics are widely available at pet stores, also, use aquarium salt as a treatment, the fish love it. it is not ick. that is a parasite and it would look like the fins were salted. also please use some ammonia remover as high ammonia can burn the fins as well as if your water is acidic.

Their is a fish desise called Ick(funny name hooah) make sure when you but fish it is not from a play like walkmart their Goldfish usually have Ick we killed off a ton of expensive fish that way. their is drops you can buy to cure ick but it is hard to get rid of. once again try to make sure you arent buying them from a cheap place.

fin rot??? have you tried any antibiotics in the tank. could be a bacterial infection that enters through the damaged fins.

buy a new tank - or totally sterilise your existing one and get rid of all the stones and plants etc in the tank. either the tank is too small and there are too many fish in there so their growth is stunted, or its some weird disease and you must start again with a clean new tank
