I've lived in both California and Florida. Florida has a lower cost of living, but it gets really humid. Plus it's warm all year round.

California has a higher cost of living (depends on what area you live in) but it's affordable if you know where to look. We have perfect weather all year round. It's sunny and warm in the spring and it does get a bit chilly in the winter, but usually around 40 to 50 degrees. Nothing compared to Canada!

There are tons of stuff to do in California! Beaches, forests, deserts, mountains, lakes, rivers, malls, theme parks, sporting events, etc. I could go on and on... It's perfect if you like to try different things.

I suggest you do research on both states (or any other state you're looking into) to make a final decision.

Good luck!

By far, the best state to live in is California. I can get to the desert, the mountains, the beach, or another country all within hours. It's a georgous state with great culture and people. If you decide to move to here, the climate is amazing, as long as you like the warm weather. We are in January and it is 75 degrees outside. Your only problem may be the affordibility. Many places in California are very expensive, and if you don't have a lot of money it is definately difficult to move here. On the bright side, you will find more career options here than almost everywhere else in the world. There is a girl I work with who moved here from Pittsburg and she loves it here(Westlake Village/Ventura county) area. I hope this helps.

FLORIDA! Reguardless of the Hurricanes, Florida is the Best state I believe you could live. I have lived all over the south, but from experience I can tell you FL is the place to be. It has about as much as California, minus all the celebrities. In FL, you have the Beaches, NASA, Disney, MGM, Universal, Busch Gardens, Key West, Miami Beach, 3 football teams, and a HUGE art scene. In all, I think the two match up. The only difference is California is more open with sexuallity, has earthquakes, surfing beaches and FL has Hurricanes. LOL. You decide.

Nebraska! Okay, now don't laugh. I LOVE California, Florida, etc., but it is expensive to live there. The midwest is the best "base camp" available. You get a genuinely wonderful EVERYDAY life with low crime, low cost of living, and wonderful people. Then you can vacation in all those other areas. Climate? Well, it will be warmer than Canada for sure, but we definately have 4 seasons and snow. You don't want to give that up all together do you?

I have lived in Ohio for the past 22 years. I moved to Central Ohio to go to college, but I ended up hating school. However, the cost of living here was a lot lower than Western New York, so I stayed. I currently live in Newark, OH, don't have a degree, and make 18 bucks an hour doing something I know how to do.
We are currently having mild conditions for January, but nobody expects this to last for long. We are subject to ice storms in March and April. Come here, but don't complain about the weather, reap the riches.

Florida. There are plenty of things to do within the entire state plus lets not forget the beaches. It is somewhat affordable depending on where you live and the temperature is very warm.
