My friend has that problem so they stitched her cervix closed. They removed the stitches at 34 wks she is now 37 wks and not dilated yet so yes you can carry a baby to term with a weak cervix.

I would imagine a weak cervix would have the opposite effect. I know a woman who ended up having so many miscarriages due to a weak cervix, she had to have her cervix "reinforced" (like, sewn) to carry her child full-term.

Yes, you can, but sometimes, it requires sutures in your cervix to reinforce its strength.
Women with incompetent cervixes do it all of the time, though. Make sure that you bring up the suggestion of cervical sutures up at your next appointment.

In some cases you can carry to term unaided by drugs. In others hormonal support can help. In a worse case scenario full bed rest can get you to term.
Anxiety is your biggest enemy.
Put yourself in the hands of a good Physician and ask Him/Her questions like this. They will not be bothered, it is what they do.
