i hear people say "yuck" just by hearing her name. there's lots of stuffs about her in magazines--rumors and everything. people hating her yet most are curious to find out what's she's doing

I think it makes people feel lots of things, not just negative or she wouldn't be where she is today. Someone somewhere wants to see her or they wouldn't buy magazines with her picture on the cover or watch her on tv. I think for the most part people are getting extremely sick of her, and realize that if not for her family, she'd most likely be nothing. Her looks alone did NOT get her where she is, neither did her talent, it was 100% luck being born into the Hilton family. Both her and her sister say they work so hard etc., which they may believe is true, but compared to the hard work most people do, they have no clue what it is to work hard. All that said, I don't mind her. Watching her on the Simple Life and other things, I find her sweet and entertaining. Her songs have even been decent. I liked Stars are Blind and then I found out it was her, I was surprised. I think she has taken what she was given at birth and really squeezed everything she could out of it, and who wouldn't? Given the oppurtunities she has been given, I'd be having a blast too. She's young, rich, having a great time. People are jealous but it is what it is. Her star will fizzle out shortly and she'll grow up and move on. I think Britney has MUCH more yuck factor to her simply because she has kids at home. At least Paris knows her limit is pets.

While I don't think this is right, I will say that she has a name that is easily mangled. Think about it. The last name is associated with a chain of hotels. A hotel is a place to go for a night. The first name Paris without any changes can evoke negative emotions enough, since there is this stereotype about Paris, France being a rude, proud, and pretentious city. But some people have slurred her first name to that of the male reproductive part, thus suggesting sexual looseness when coupled with her last name. If I were her, I would have chosen another name.
What I don't understand is why she seems to be maligned more than Britney Spears.

Like someone before me said; she has fame, multi rich, i mean she gets whatever she wants, of course that is going to cause JEALOUSY! Which I truly find stupid, I mean I also hear all these people saying they hate her and just making fun and just saying bad negative things about the girl. HATING PEOPLE that is all, I mean how can you hate someone who doesn't even know YOU exist, plain stupid. I mean it is a thing to not like something or someone. Like for example a singer or an actor, you might not like a singer and their music or an actor and their movies, well you just dont hear them or buy their albums or watch their movies, period. But with Paris... maaaaaan!! people take their time to talk talk and talk BS about her. I honestly DO LIKE HER, and what is WRONG WITH BEING BORN RICH?? She has done and accomplished a lot of things. People think all her shows, music, books, and merchandise is stupid well I mean at least she is trying to be out there and it has worked because she is DAMN popular and people talk about her all the time. SO YEA PARIS ROCKS! lol =D
P.S. Ok and also, what the HELL is wrong with PARTYING all the time? and what is wrong with being drunk and showing private parts.... DAMN BORING NEGATIVE HATING PEOPLE. If we talk about hate, I really really HATE HATERS! lol its all ENVY, because I do not think if one of these fuKers who talk all this BS about PARIS if they were rich I dont think they will spend all their money and time inside a library reading about humanity, my ***!!!!!!!!!!!!

the only reason she's famous is for being rich and having sex on a tape. she's a drunk and a drug addict, she goes around without underwear, all she does is go out to clubs and get wasted and fight people. she's not really an actress or a singer, she's never worked, she doesn't help anyone, she has no purpose and she's conceited and annoying. if anyone's curious about her it's like the same way you will be like looking in the trash can "ew no way what is that smell? ew come smell this!"

My contempt for her is because, she is already rich and she hog up the opportunity that can be given to people with talent. She cut a record to self promote herself and use computer parlor tricks to make herself sound good. That time and space she took could be given to person who could actually sing. Modesty is a virtue that she lacks. She also makes a bad example for our youth. I was so mad to find my cousin bringing her chihuahua and treats it as a fashion statement. Instead of inspiring our youth to be smarter, stronger, or braver, she makes being dizzy and pretty as the aspiration of our females. She is a poster shild for empty materialism. Buy expensive good for the sake of having.

i'm from australia and happened to be at bondi beach last week when paris hilton had a very seductive shower on the beach(as you do!)
I think she's a ***** but at the same time i'm curious with her mainly cos i think surely someone can't really be like that all the time!she's gotta be acting.
when i seen her at the beach everyone's reaction was 50/50-
"oh my god!that's paris hilton!!!"
"oh god,what is she doing?!"
I'll never fully understand it myself either.

wrong. NOBODY wants to hear about what she is doing, this information is FORCED down our throats. i stand in line to pay for my god damned groceries and am surrounded by useless gossip that i have no interest in. in order to watch the tv shows i like, i have to watch adverts for "the simple life" which depicts paris hilton having just about the lowest IQ possible for humans. people say yuck because they are sick of hearing about her. nobody gives a **** anymore.

I think it's because she is the epitomy of shallow and represents what every girl wants on the outside (her appearance) but what we know is so vain on the inside. She doesn't represent any values that we know are meaningful like some other icons. People continue to pay attention to her partly to secretly admire her and partly to confirm how they dislike her.
