Apparently, aside from the bi-partisan tension in politics today, most Americans- whether conservative or liberal, would agree Saddam was bad and the heinous crimes he committed were awful. But why did his execution go so wrong, providing no real closure while further fueling the mideast crisis? His demise should have united Iraqis while it really escalated tensions. Is this a sign of hopelessness, or will history someday show that justice prevails?
Put aside your political bias and give an educated opinion...

the dude needed to stand up for himself and assert that he really didn't have "weapons of mass destruction" or mobile uranium enrichment trucks like colin powell showed faked diagrams of to the u.n.
he should have been much more open about the fact there were no "w.m.d. s" in his country instead of shutting down david kay and crew.
but he was senile and foolish and it cost him. had he behaved differently he may not be pushing up daisies today and the u.s. could actually be doing productive stuff.

The Iraqi people (or at least the trial) chose to hang Saddam.
In the old days, kings went to the guillotine. Now, if a leader needs to be deposed, in America we can impeach them, in other countries I'm sure they have their own method.
We don't really know to what extent the Iraqi people are united, and in any case, when all the oil is sucked from the ground in the Middle East, the ensuing war will wipe out all but an afterthought of what went right or wrong with Saddam's trial.

Nothing went wrong with Saddam's execution (other than the taunting and videos). The problem is liberals want something to go wrong with Iraq now so they can blame it on the "poor" execution. There are people celebrating in the streets of Iraq now that he is gone, but the only people you see are the very few people from his home town. Saddams death has sent a clear message to terrorist everywhere, mess with the bull and you will in fact get the horns.

The problem with Sadaam was that he was a bastard, however, under his rule there were no tensions and Iraq was at the time a place for some kind of peace.
Now all the ethnic groups want the power for themselves and they have fergotten that no matter where they come from and who they are, they are Iraqis.

Nothing went wrong…
American intentionally killed him to hide their misdeed. By killing Saddam they have closed the door of truth and justice.
I want to see Mr. Bush and Mr. Tony to be hanged soon too for their crimes. For killing thousand of innocent Afghans and Iraqi people. Invading the foreign country on baseless reason and waging a war without consent of UN. Lets see how JUST they are!!!

Killiing Saddam Hussein will do nothing to deal with infighting amongst members of different political and religious factions, a problem created by his dictatorship, old prejudices, American interference, war, poverty and globalization.

Nothing went wrong, he was punished for his crimes and is dead. No one said it was going to end the fighting as much as turning Iran and Syria into a green glass parking lot would.
