Does anyone have any idea where I could buy such a BBQ in Japan? I don't really want to ship one in from overseas.

I don't know how far you are from the nearest U.S. Military installation, but I know all the years I spent stationed oversees Gas grills were sold in the base commissary, as were propane cylinders.

I was although never stationed in Japan so I'm not sure, but it may be worth looking into. Host countries are all a little diff rent, especially when it comes to hazardous materials.

You need to check first if Japanese LPG fittings are compatible with an imported BBQ. Otherwise, how could you have the tank filled?

I have never seen a Japanese BBQ with lava rocks, the closest approximation would be something intended for yakitori/yakisoba etc.

This is an interesting question. Why don't you send your request for a US-style BBQ to www.fbcusa.com. They might be able to do something for you, and you wouldn't need to worry about hose sizes and all the rest.

Good luck.

You could try Cainz or any of the other home stores, I'm not sure that they have this type of grill as it is probably not used in Japan.
