Capricorns are very down to earth, much like level headed and always make sure that what ever they do in life, it is completely thought out. They are born anchievers. They very well plan everything they are going to do.
Leos are very dominant, so times unpredictable, desire attention more than any sign. Are always out going and active.
The problem would most likely be communication. When Capricorns are turn off, they are turned off and can become stubborn like their fellow earth signs(Taurus and Virgo). Leo can be stubborn as well, and the two may never come to turns.
Capricorn leads a steady life style while Leo is often Promiscuous, and Capricorns hate to not understand their partner. Leo may become bored with Capricorns's constant tactics on having a plan, thinking things through, sorting everything out bit by bit. Leos are daring, and love to be spontaneous.
They could make good passion, though Leo may most likely want to take charge, and Capricorns don't need a boss. They are their own.
But you two decide if you work or not.

My first real love was a Leo and I am pure Capricorn through and through. We were young so it did not have a chance to reach it's full bloom. But to this day 30 years later if we run into each other regardless, of who is present, he will say here is my first true love. Although I am happily married he is the one man (besides my perfect husband a Virgo) that still gives me that giddy feeling in the pit of my stomach. Let's say a Leo/Capricorn match is great for passion but if your look for long term compatibility and true love that will take you through the years find a Virgo!

I’m a female leo and have been dating a male Capricorn for 4 years. It has not been easy. I love him to death, most of the time we see eye to eye and understand each other completely. However, other times we are miles apart. Capricorns are very work orientated, they strive for success more then any other zodiac sign. Capricorns also have problems expressing their feelings. Leo’s need constant adoration and praise. We love knowing we make you happy. Capricorn can’t understand why Leo needs so much reassurance. Nor do they have patience for that. It’s not the easiest signs to date but, with communication it can work. Capricorn needs to not analyze Leo that much, and Leo needs to stop being jealous and needing so much reassurance. That’s why so many famous models and actors are leos, we need to be admired….We need constant attention all the time. We need you to show feelings and emotions. i don't think of they may well be a competent tournament. Leo is a fireplace sign. I, too am a fireplace sign. basically i'm a sagittarius. I even have in no way gotten alongside with Capricorn. each Capricorn relationship have been in has been a disaster. the wonderful suits for hearth indications are different hearth indications. at the same time with: Leo and Aries, Aries and Sagittarius, Aries and Leo, Sagittarius and leo, and so on.

I've only seen negative outcomes when it comes to these two being paired. Caps can't stand the constant attention Leos need. They also can't stand their ego, they actions, and they neediness, and constant reassurance. I would stay clear of this.
