Yes and yes, i really think it helps to talk about what you are feeling and going through, especially with someone who is not in your group of friends or family.

I absolutely do! I had a really hard time after my daughter was born with Post Partum depression. Of course, I didn't know that was what was wrong then. Anyway, I went for help from a therapist and it was the best thing I ever did for myself. Some people think therapist "analyze" you or something, but that's not it. This person helped me to clarify my feelings and thoughts. She supported me through making some major decisions about my life. I'm not going to say it is always easy, but it was completely worth the work. I'm doing just great now and decided to become a therapist myself!

If you are asking because you are thinking about getting some therapy, then I would highly recommend it. Remember that therapy is a relationship so if the first person you meet with doesn't seem like a good fit, you can always move on to someone who fits you well. Good luck!

No but I know it helps if you go in with the right attitude. Most reasons for the need of therapy is because a person can't forgive themselves or someone else.

Forgive and learn by your mistakes. Pick up the pieces and get on with life. Be all you can be to the best of your ability. Be true to yourself. Be kind and care.

Yes I've been in therapy. It doesn't help much. I was in therapy several years ago. I might get some more if I can pay for it.

Yes and yes. I am almost 49 and have been in therapy off and on(more on) since I was 17. I wouldn't have lasted this long without it.

Yes. Not exactly voluntarily.
No. I didn't exactly fit, and so the best information presented was only barely applicable.
Although if you mean "I've lost much of my joie de vivre and have trouble remembering that I should love all God's children because I really lost a lot of my fellow feeling for mankind and I call that helping", then yes it did.

It helped me. I had to have therapy when I was twelve after I witnessed a man die. I was nervous and shaky all the time, so I went to a therapist. It really helped me. I was really shook up after seeing him die, and therapy helped.

Yes. At first, it didn't, because what I needed was medication first. Then, when I got it after being on meds, I felt a bit better about myself.

Instead of just talking about my "feelings", I had someone I could talk about my private matters to. It was like a confessional of sorts.
