Yes, grass is a living thing, it is a plant like the tree. Water is made up of chemicals, two hydrogen atoms and an oxygen atom. It can only separate its components. Grass on the other hand, is made up of cells that require sunlight, water, oxygen, and nutrients (from the soil) to grow and stay alive. The individual cells in the grass use each of the products to maintain themselves through photosynthesis. It is a lot more in depth than this, but this is a basic explanation.

YES!!! grass grows, makes its own food by photosynthesis(like normal plants), and grass respires. Well, u can see for urself that grass grows on your lawn when you don't use the lawn mower regularly.....so that must mean that grass is living. Grass IS after all, part of the plant kingdom!

No its not living, it is produced in factories and sold on a roll just like fabric.
It never needs fertilizing and people only water it to wash the dust off the leaf blades.
It is immune to pests and diseases too, as lawn grub is just a fictitious thing people make up when they have an old lawn and cant afford to buy a few new rolls.
