It is where u have to play every other person once. Say for example there are 5 people in a pool including yourself. Then u would have to play 4 matches one against everyone else whether u win or lose. It is used for younger age groups as a method of qualifying for the main draw in big tournaments.

'Round Robin' is another form of playing a tournament. It is not only used in some tennis tournaments but also other sports.

In a round robin, the players are segregated into groups. In each group, everyone plays each other once. When everyone is done playing each other, the one/s with the highest record advances to the final round where he/she meets the other group winners. From that stage on, it's an elimination.

The ATP is now using the round robin in some of their tournaments as it gives the fans more time to see their favorite players. The other form of round robin the ATP is using is the Hybrid. It means some players go through an qualifying round, while the other players are automatically in the round robin stage. The winners of the qualifying round fill up the remaining spots in the round robin stage.

round robin is when u play everyone in the tournament at least once.... for example if there are 10 players in a round robin tournament, u have to play each player a full match, win or lose u have to play each player once..and the other players have to do the same. At the end, the person with best record win or move on. Not every tournament have round robin.
