The only way to avoid something is to make it the most important thing to avoid. I used to drink quite a bit. I could have very easily become an alcoholic, as my dad was one. But, I realized it would tear my family apart and leave me with nothing. It became important to me to not drink anymore. Even when I was tempted, I just reminded myself of what was important, and did something else. It's not impossible to free yourself from this, or any other addiction. You can be addicted to things that are good too, like food, work, or other "normal" things. The thing to remember is to keep things in balance. SInce porn leads you to places you don't want to go anymore, just tell yourself you can no longer go to these places, whether they're on the internet or at porn shops. You ARE in control, whether or not you believe it, and can change if you change your "want to". My pastor says that when he became a Christian, he found that he could drink all the booze he wanted, sleep with all the women he wanted, and take all the drugs he wanted. But...God changed his "want to". He didn't want to do any of those things, because they weren't a part of who he was, as a child of God. If you want to avoid porn, tell yourself that it's no longer who you are, then be that person. While it takes 21 days to form a habit, sometimes it takes longer to break it, depending on the habit and the length of time you were involved. I'm living proof that anyone can break an addiction, as I no longer drink, smoke or take drugs. <*)))><

i read that someone becoming addicted to porn is an ever growing problem nowadays being all over the net. probably the more you view it, the more you'll have that desire or craving to see it. if it's become an addiction, well then it would be like any other addiction and you may feel depressed and then bored and then finally develop new interests. If you feel you have a problem and it's starting to take over ur life then get help. they do have those meetings for sex addicts anonymous. you'll probably feel much happier living a more well rounded life I bet. Fill ur time w/friends, hobbies, something spiritual (anything spiritual)
IT's far from impossible. you'll just have to set your mind to it and be willing to go thru the stages of cutting it out of your life.

Neither the Bible nor "going to church" will take away any urges to watch porn - and why would you want to "force yourself" to not watch porn?
Unless it is becoming an obsession, there's nothing wrong with watching a movie with a bunch of people screwing and sucking each other.
And to all you self-righteous so-called Christians out there:
Gett off your holy-roller outfits - they don't fool anyone!
Even Paul states very clearly:
"All things are permitted, but not all things are beneficial; all things are permitted, but let none become your master"
ALL things!
Why would "reading the Bible" take away the enjoyment of porn or sex? Or alcohol or cigarettes, or anything else that bible-thumpers have deemed "unacceptable".
The very first rule of Christianity is acceptance and love.
Jesus said:
"The most important commandment is: Love one another".
Christians: You might want to take note of who Jesus actually was, and what he truly stood for! REBELLION against established "rule-based" beliefs! And what do ALL Christians do? Establish rules, and then use them to judge others.
"Judge not, lest ye be judged"
"With the same measure as you judge others, with that measure shall you be judged"
"Let he who has no sin cast the first stone"
Cristian hyppocrites!

Try never using a computer, or going to a newsagent.
Failing that get somebody you know to set a parent lock on your computer, and have them not tell you the password. That would block out a great deal of porn on the internet, which would vastly dimish your access to porn.

Realize that every woman involved in porn is:
A) Someone who is trying to keep up a drug habit
B) Forced into it, like Linda Lovelace was
C) Someone who was molested as a child (sorry, but normal people don't get into it).
D) The women in porn are someone's daughter, sister, niece, just like someone related to you.
When you realize that you are contributing to this person's misery, you won't like it as much.

You're on the right track. You should strive to change yourself. There's nothing wrong with porn--certainly something wrong with you. Open your mind to enjoy the art and pleasure life has to offer.
Make a new year resolution. Stop being a wussy. Live like a real man!

Dear,
You can make it.In the first place start reading the Holly Bible.Convince yourself there is no profit out of looking at these pictures.Rather it motivates you to occupy your mind with sexual affairs all the time.It hurts your performance in education, work etc.It is morally bad to engage yourself in this sort of life.Do you know God will punish when we put ourselves out of the norm?Read Genesis Chapter 19:1-29.God be with you.

Are you kidding? If you don't want it, stop watching. If you keep watching it, you obviously don't desire to change yourself or you would. You need to align your reasoning with your desires champ, and then you'll be eternally happy.
