The last time I turned it on, everything worked fine. Today, my wife turns it on and nothing. I checked it now and I don't even smell gas, but my cooktop is working fine. Is it dead or is it fixable?

EDIT: Well, I looked it up on the Magic Chef website and there is only one oven on the site that is a Single Oven/Broiler combo and that one has a pilotless ignition. So I guess I don't know what to do now. The online manual does not address this issue in the troubleshooting section.

I have the same problem here in Australia. It's an old Chef - Infra Ray (stand alone). Pilot is not clicking, no gas supplied to oven, however the cooktop is still working.
I gather it's either the thermocouple or pilot assembly that is defective as suggested by the guys on this site. Will be finding more about it today and hopefully sort it out and will revert with my findings.

More than likely, the pilot has went out in your gas stove. You need to call a service man to replace it. Hopefully, this troubleshooting guide link is some help and insight.

Does it have a pilot? If the pilot wont stay lit it is probably the thermo coupler (the probe that sticks out just above the pilot flame). It tells the safety valve if the pilot flame is lit...if it gets cold it shuts the gas off to the pilot.
