apparently someone is uneducated and close minded.
Heres an example of Darwin in action... In England there was a black moth it would hide from predators by sitting on the black bark of a tree, every so often one of these moths would end up being white, a mutation. There was a fire that turned all the trees white and only the whit moths survived.
Survival of the fittest.
Another one to ponder... many people think horses and zebras are related, however chimps and humans have more in common genetically then horses and zebras. Please explaine this one to me...

There were things which happened back in the early days of the church which were considered to be inviolable, because of God's grand plan, these include the Sun revolving around the Earth and the stars being points of light. These have slowly been accepted by the church as incorrect. But not before many intelligent and good men were persecuted and sometimes killed, such as Giordano Bruno, Galileo and others, because they defied the church's beliefs. The church changed its view in the face of overwhelming and obvious evidence. It is now self evident that the Sun and stars do not revolve around the Earth.
No-one had to stop believing in God just because their views changed.
Evolution will be the same. The theory of evolution is one of the most elegant yet robust scientific theories to be developed. It has been confirmed by every branch of science that has been put towards it, from archeology, botany, biology, DNA analysis, dentistry, medical science - the list goes on.
Eventually, the evidence will become so obvious, so simply compelling, that it cannot be ignored. And you can still believe in God if you want to.

Well, you can believe what you want, but the fact remains that the SCIENTIFIC theory (which means a great deal more in science than this "just a theory" crap yammered by christian "scientists" and intelligent design crackpots) of evolution is basically a scientific fact that has been tested rigorously and stood up to all manner of scientific scrutiny. Think of it this way, Darwinian evolution is to the science of biology as gravity is to physics...a scientific fact. Try actually studying evolution, in all it's manifestations and diversity, before dismissing it as nonsense. If you don't understand and realize the fact of evolution, then you won't really understand any aspect of Biology fully, as it is the most pervasive and consistent theme across all disciplines in Biology. And, of course, it does not, in any way, refute the existence or non-existence of a God or Gods or whatever spiritual philosophy you happend to subscribe to.

in this debate there is always intense polarization, but when it comes down to it.... it's really not that important except in studying science
I have been studying the effects of evolution on organisms for almost a decade now and I also grew up in a Mormon household. I have strong convictions towards evolution being a very real and fact of science. I also have my convictions toward my religion. Bottom line is, if you are religious (let's just assume you are of Christian denomination for this) I can't imagine a situation where you are at the judgment seat and when you are asked if you believe in evolution, you say yes, and then are immediately sent to hell.
Secondly, the one part about science in general I have never been a fan of and try to avoid is arrogance. Everyone who understands evolution looks down on religion as bunk science and superstition. But to really be a scientist, you must be open to new things. It was ridiculous only 60 years ago that DNA was the genetic material, now it is commonplace knowledge. All I'm saying here is don't be a pompous, arrogant, and snide person who looks down on others for believing in something. You believe in science while someone else might believe in something else, regardless, you are both believing!

I doubt VERY much that you can even say what Charles Darwin's theory *is* ... much less give a coherent reason why you think it is nonsense.
C'mon. I challenge you. Prove me wrong.

IT HAS EASILY BEEN THE GREATEST HOAX EVER PERPETRATED ON THE WORLD.....ABSOLUTE PROOF IN NEVER ALLOWING THE THEORY TO TAKE PLACE NOW.....E.G. WE ALL CAME FROM APES---IF TRUE ,OCCASIONALLY ANOTHER HUMAN BEING WOULD NATURALLY OCCUR DIRECTLY FROM APES----SINCE THERE IS NO GOD CONTROL-----WHO OR WHAT STOPPED THIS EVOLVEMENT----MUTATIONS OCCUR IN THE SAME GENUS------DINOSAUERS ( LIZZARDS ) DON'T BECOME BIRDS----AND ALL THE OTHER GARBAGE UTTERED BY DARWIN WHICH SOUNDS LIKE A DRUNKEN SAILOR PONTIFICATING ON DELICATE BRAIN SURGERY AND HIS RECOMENDATIONS I WOULD BELIEVE LONG BEFORE DARWIN...
