This may seem like a dumb question, but it seems to me that there is some element of risk here.
[Yes, I also saw the movie "CRASH" a while back--well I actually only saw the first half... Anyhow, even in this movie it is acknowledged that there is a risk factor here.]
Btw, I've always wondered this (wayyy before I saw the movie--the movie didnt influence me at all). * I referenced the movie as a self-check to make sure I'm not being a tiny bit paranoid, lol. *

Question:
Do you trust a locksmith to install both the deadbolt and doorknob lock to your home's main enterance?

Also, how much should I expect to pay for this service (an average ballpark figure)?

this is about the easiest thing to change.. even my 10 year old grand son can do this.. 2 screws and its off,, only thing that may be even considered hard is if the latch doesn't match up..
this is assuming you have a deadlock already there and are simply replacing it.. if its done from scratch then u need hole driller....
second.. trusting a locksmith to do this is a pointless worry..
he doesn't need a key..any locksmith can open any lock in a mater of minutes. and in some cases seconds..just because hes puts yours in doesn't mean anything..
and the cost is cheap in respect to the job.. depending on the area and the cost of living..i wouldn't pay more then 20/30 bucks per lock plus the cost of the lock...only takes 15 mins to replace or 30 to cut a hole and install

There is always a risk, no matter what you do. If you hire a locksmith, you have fewer risks due to improper instalation.

Look for a credible locksmith with a good reputation in your town. Locks are pretty easy to install, but the locksmith will have a better selection than your local hardware store. Also consult a few locksmiths about prices and qualities of different locks, they are experts and will know which locks are the best.

The cost depends a lot on where you live. I live in the midwest and it would run about $350.00. I would trust an established locksmith, and I would write down the name of the installer. Again depending on your specific situation, you could possibly go to a Home Depot or other big box store and get interchangable units for about $80.00 and do it yourself or have a friend do it and the keys would be in the package.

I wouldn't pay more than $500 to outfit a 2 bedroom house.
I trust a locksmith because they are licensed professionals. Go to a reputable one. I would go to a local mom and pop operation where the owner is the installer. That way, you know the name and description of the locksmith, if your house is broken into.

Are you sure you aren't a little bit paranoid? If it bothers you so much I say YOU CAN DO IT! Trust me you can if you want to (even if you have to borrow or rent the tools). Good Luck!
