Stayed @ a Spa/ Resort Hotel. What's up with all those charges??Room service has a service charge + gratuity. Then $20 resort fees per day, even if you don't use any of the stuff (gym,pool,ect.).It's really a rip-off....Is there anyone out there that's mad too? Did I mention I spent $83 for breakfast.

I'm more disgusted than mad. I've been to Vegas for New Year's before, but this time was just OK. Our newly remolded, upgraded room at the MGM was horrible! It didn't even have a private bathroom. As soon as you walked in, there was a glass door with the toilet and right next to it was another glass door with the shower. No sink space, no view, dark, and it was the LONGEST walk to the the room. Dinner for 4 people at the Rio seafood buffet cost me $150. Monorail closed all day on New Year's. Bus stops were blocked by gates. Luckily we still managed to enjoy ourselves. We're going back at the end of February (AFTER the NBA Allstar weekend) to get or true Vegas experience back.

I have been to Vegas many times, and would suggest that if you plan on going again, make travel arrangements yourself, not through an agent or similar type person. Get a AAA book, look on the internet, shop around for a good hotel. If you are just in need of a place to sleep, you don't need to buy into the "resort" stuff. I usually stay at a cheap motel like Travelodge or Motel 6, because I don't spend much time at the hotel other than for sleeping. What I think is fun about Vegas is to stay somewhere small so you are FORCED to go out and look for things, like a place to eat, somewhere else to have fun, etc. instead of eating at the buffet in the hotel (how boring!) $83 for breakfast does sound a bit absurd to me. Vegas is weird like that. The prices fluctuate all over the place because of supply & demand, so of course it is going to be more expensive around New Year's. But then you could go two weeks before that, or 3 weeks after, and pay a fraction of New Year's prices. That's just the way it is.

A good way to learn about good deals for things is just to talk to people who live there while you're there. Say, for example, you stop at the little bar inside the casino of the hotel you're in to get a cocktail... ask the bartender what he thinks would be a good place to eat or stay. Most of them are more than willing to chat with you and share their knowledge. I've learned alot of what I know from talking to locals.

"college district calls off education for first time in 30 years, flights canceled", so I doubt it... it would want to contact the floor yet I doubt it will improve like very last year. the traditional annual snowstorm in Las Vegas a million.3 inches and intensely last year they'd 3.6 even as Henderson (which borders LV to the southeast) had 8 and were given like no interest, haah. this is not like it in no way snows in Las Vegas, it truly is a extreme desert after all, with an elevation of 2000 ft so this is not like this is at sea element or something. the common low in Dec - Feb is lower than 40 so this is not all that uncommon, human beings merely imagine it would not because it receives so warm contained in the summer and is a desert. It snowed slightly the first time i change into ever there, in Feb 1996, yet not sufficient to write down abode about, merely sufficient to ascertain falling inspite of the indisputable fact that it fairly a lot melted as quickly because it hit the floor.

Yeah I have bought some pretty bogus packages, too. Sales people are way too good at what they do.

You shouldn't go to Vegas if you're not willing to spend money.
