when referring to overcommercialized, watered down corporate owned music and media - yes. corporations suck the life out of artists and songs to make fast money, then dump it and move on to the next hapless victim.
your answer is in my question. - do you value music for the way it makes you feel and enhances your life or do you grade it by how much is available on all these different formats today?

It is my opinion that the value of music is directly related to the business and marketing strategies behind it. More today than ever I believe it is the record executives themselves making the music with the right looking bands to push it. Unfortunately the general public has no musical taste and will learn to love anything they hear frequently enough. Thats why you can always hear the same 25 songs and often twice in the same day on any of your "popular" radio stations. But if you look deeper on your own, in any genre of your liking, you can find good authentic music. Lacking only in marketing budget. Good Luck.

Yes, music's just not what is used to be. It used to be when you turned on MTV they actually played a variety of music. Now, if you catch an actual music program, it's a top 10 countdown that plays the same music everyday. It's not that it's too much music being played; the problem is that only the popular crap is in heavy rotation.
