What do they eat? I used to feed mine live gold fish. I don't want to have to go to the pet store to buy fish or insects. Are there any that eat green vegitables?

GarTer snakes should not be fed fish. They can happily live their whole lives on mice which constitue a more far better staple food.

No snake will eat vegetables. They are all carnivorous predators. The majority of snakes you can buy eat mice. If mice are an option for you, some small snakes are Sand Boas, Rubber Boas, Rosy Boas, Western Hognose and African House Snakes. If mice are not an option for you, you can't have a snake.

I had one once. It was just a tiny tree green snake. Corn snakes are sightly larger, but they are very cool!!
