She seems to think its funny and surprising and Im really wondering why, after all she was the one that said I shouldnt lie about my name to people on the internet.

A lot of people worry, knowing how easily someone can take your information and use it to basically ruin you. You may think you know someone, but you really don't. They live in cyberspace, so far as you're concerned and the next Ted Bundy or Kenneth Lay could be one of those people you are on first name basis with, lol.
