You now know the kind of friend you had. Well, better late than never. $700 is a lot of money but finding a true friend is not easy.
Just imagine that you got rid of a rotten friend for only $700.
He is not worth bodyslaming. For all you know, you may get into problems with the Police.
Jusy forget about it as a lesson learned. Never lend or borrow any money.
He is bigger loser than you. He lost a friend and you only lost some money.
Good Luck

First, don't say slug. Second, don't body slam him, that is some redneck crap. Give him a deadline. if he doesn't pay, then break his hand. Give him another deadline a little shorter and add a couple points. If he doesn't pay again break his jaw and ribs and take enough stuff from his house to pay you back double what he owes you. and tell him he still owes you and you want it the next time you run into him. If you see him, pound him for it if not oh well.
His stuff is not worth as much on the street, so keep this in mind while taking his stuff.

Well, since he owes you $700 if I were you I'd tell him this: "If you don't pay me back I won't be so helpful next time, because it's very obvious that you don't need it."
That should get his attention. If it doesn't he might say that he is your friend be this will prove he isn't.
Also since he is laughing about it behind your back, never "loan" him any money ever again. That will show him that since he doesn't want to pay you back, he'll never need to again.
This will teach him the lesson in a mental mannor. That is almost allways more effective.
Good luck. =)

Why, will slugging him get you your money back?
Nope. So obviously not a worthwhile option. If you're writing off the 700 bucks, then turn your back and walk, knowing the person wasn't worth you time and energy. Or, file a small claims suit and get back your money.

well it is a lesson learned. the best way to loose a friend or get rid of somebody you don't like is to let them owe you money. to bad it was such a large amount.
it would be best if you just confronted him in a direct manner and let him know you expect him to make an effort to repay you, and if he doesn't take you serious oh well, your out the money.
oh you say he is laughing it off behind your back, if he is telling people about it he is only hurting himself, nobody is ever going to loan him money again.
Good Luck

I beat a dude up for $5 just because he said in front of me and bunch of people "I ain't paying you your $5"

I think that you should kill him with kindness. Just don't even bother about the money. The next time something is said about it and your around say something like this"Some people need more than others.

Don't lower yourself, you were a REAL friend and a REAL man when you loaned him the money. A looser is how he is acting so just let it go, sorry you got burned............. but you will receive 10 fold if you trust in God to take care of this situation.

Seriously, you should take him to small claims court and get your money back hun!
Anytime you loan someone more than 20 dollars, you should make them sign a promisorry note saying that they will pay you back.
Example: I John Doe and Loaning the amount of 700.00 to my friend Ricky Bobby, and he will have to pay me back by __(whatever date)__..then you both sign it with your signatures.
And if he don't hold up his end of the deal, then take him to court.
Did you have him sign a promisorry note before giving him this LARGE amount of moolah??
Good Luck, hun.

Don't think I would slug him. I would just never acknowledge his existence again. Write him off and move on. Those kinds of "friends" you can live without.
