Dose anyone know why I cant find coins from 1955 I would like to find out why.

Going through the mintage figures, they are far from rare or scarce. They are however 52 years old. I would say the cents are in a dealers wheat cent box and the nickels maybe in a Jefferson box. The dime, quarter and half dollar are made of silver so they were taken out of circulation in 1965-66. they are just be kept by people for they are made of silver. I bet a lot were melted in the 1980's when silver prices went crazy. It looks like the 3 silver coins of that year, at least in circulated grades don't even have a dealers quote. looks like in the case of the nickel it has a retail of 50 cents in grade very fine and that's high. Looks to me, a lot have just been taken out of circulation over the years. They are out there though, for I did put a Jefferson nickel set together for the fun of it, from change and looking through nickel rolls and found them all, but the 1950-D. Took me a few years but it can be done.

Just some patience and you'll find the 1955 coins. I suggest:
1) you visit the bank and exchange for rolls of nickels and cents and go through them.
2) you visit the coin dealer and tell him what you need.

I have coins from 55 in my coin collection.. you just need to keep looking. Theya re everywhere for the finding.. check ebay and search for them online
