To "The Grit", you say "what one person does to his or her own body is no one else's business". So then why should we support more funding for rehabilitation? It is no one else's business, right?

The first thing you can do is educate yourself. Most people don't really have a clue about any of the facts and couldn't pass a basic quiz on the subject. The fact that you even ask the question like this shows that you are in that group.

You are obviously new to the subject so I suggest you start by reading the following references:

The short history of the marijuana laws at http://druglibrary.org/schaffer/History/whiteb1.htm

The Consumers Union Report on Licit and Illicit Drugs at
http://druglibrary.org/schaffer/Library/studies/cu/cumenu.htm
This is the best overall review of the subject ever written. You will find surprises on every page.

make everything legal ,stop the war ,tell kids that they can overdose them selves as much as they like ,tell them they must smoke and become alcoholics ,and the result is that they will refuse to do any of these things ,it is the illegality that adds excitement

in the Netherlands (a real democratic country),where you can marry your horse if you like ,buy drugs in the coffee bars, kill your self with doctors permission ,the youth is the most conservative i have ever known ,they don't even drink Coca Cola saying its dangerous ,nobody smokes and only the tourist take drugs

America has no faith in their youth ,or know how to apply mass psychology, forbid something and it becomes a vice .permit everything and the kids make their own morals

your war on drugs will only make more people go for it.but you will never learn that ,so your attitude is responsible for the problem .

Dismantle the USDA they are the biggest drug dealers in the United States. How many thousands of young people die every year from prescription drugs is what you ought to be asking. The government is no longer worried about the war on drugs because they have cornered the market. WAKE UP!!!!

Wage a war on ridiculous prison times for drug users. Support more funding for rehabilitation. Re-educate the public on privacy and rights (what one person does to his or her own body is no one else's business).

EDIT: "To "The Grit", you say "what one person does to his or her own body is no one else's business". So then why should we support more funding for rehabilitation? It is no one else's business, right?"

I'm not saying you have to support funding for rehab. I'm saying that people who want to get clean should get support from those who care about helping. It isn't anyone else's business what I do to my body. But if I seek help from others to get clean, particularly from those who care about me or are interested in helping, I should be able to get that support.

In other words, I can't control anyone or stop them from doing anything. But if they want information, education, support, and assistance on stopping or controlling their own behaviors, they should have someone who is willing to help.

Stop focusing so much of your attention on drugs. What you think about becomes your reality, whether it is your goal, or the abscence of it. If you're thinking about the drug problem, whether it's creating more, or getting rid of it, you're attracting more drug problems. Focus your intention on living in a healthy clear-headed world.

It's just like people who are against war, it's like trying to fight fire with fire, what do you get? More fire. Instead be pro-peace instead of anti-war, there is a world of difference.

It's like people who are stuck in debt. If you're focusing on debt, doesn't matter whether it's get out or get in, you're attracting more debt.

Prosperity is what we need to give our attention to. When this is done by a large number of people at the same time, the power of it is exponentially amplified.

don't accept or buy prescription medication Refuse to rely on personal use of any time of medication unless in event of a life threatening illness. I do not rely on aspirin for headaches or pain. I use cold ompresses on my forehead and hotwater bottle when my back hurts and I lie still in a darkened room Works for me everytime
