No.No one has to swear on a christian bible. An athiest simply affirms, a Moslem swears on the Quoran. A witness swears by rhat he feels is holy or sacred.

We live in a Christian based country. Most certainly every person no matter what their religion has to do this in court - and it's easier to just swear on the bible than to evoke your religious beliefs and alienate everyone in the court room. So the answer is, yes you do have to, but if you bring your lawyer and object to the Bible's presence under this circumstance, you can just swear to the truth.
