go to a place like guitar center and ask a sales rep about it. my dad bought something like a mixer board and a recorder to record his music [except his uses cassette tapes] and you'll need pick-ups in your guitars that you want to use and also cables to connect your keyboard/guitars to the recorder. also if you plan on singing with it, which i assume you would, you'll need a microphone that will also plug into your recorder.

go to download.com and look for free recording software. You can play your guitar thru your amp and run the line out into your computer. Monitor yourself thru headphones plugged into headphone jack. Most recording software comes with a metronome to keep time. Your keyboard will do that also.

Once you've recorded your basic tracks, instruments, you can record your vocals. after recording you mix down all of the tracks and output to mp3. You can literally record, mix-down and publish a song within a few hours.

go to download.com and download powertab editor. It will let you totally record every aspect of your songs on your computer, except for vocals.
