Some engines with knocks manage to go thousands of miles without blowing up.

Others with knocks will not make it a mile with a rod knock.

Be extremely diligent if buying an engine with a knock.

Best bet avoid like the plague!

if at any time that a caring is knocking it is not a good thing... it could just be that the oil needs to be a little heavy or that the pistons need to be replaced, but i would not recommend buying that car because yes it could be that the motor is getting ready to go out on the car.... that is why he is selling a 93 for $500

btw knocking means that there is a tapping or rattling sound coming from the engine of the car.

question! what variety of oil became used once you replaced it??? you have hydraulic valve lifters throughout this engine. in case you have not been using the right oil (synthetic) then you fairly probable have clogged lifters, and a few different clogged engine aspects, such because of the fact the oil rigidity relief valve. to not hardship!!! Use the two Seafoam (ok) or Amsoil sludge remover (extra effective) to loosen and dislodge the offending sludge. that is going to sparkling the relief valve and the oil passageways on your lifters. once you drain out the previous oil, SWEAR OFF universal OIL perpetually!!!! there's a definite Mobil One made purely for GM automobiles. examine the labels!!! that is going to record, "GM approval" on the lower back. Use the "0W" formula. Pennzoil Platinum that "meets GM specs" is likewise very sturdy. optimistically, you will study somewhat approximately oil, sturdy and undesirable, now!

The motor will need to be removed from the car and then it will need major repair work.
If you don't fix it the motor will get worse and BLOW up. It won't last a year, I guarantee.
