I am big on lizards and started keeping snakes I have kept ball pythons, a durango mountain kingsnake, a bull snake and a false water cobra successfully and still have all but the ball pythons. I gave them away. What next?

i want something different not a corn snake, I really want a challenge, I wouldn't mind owning a more difficult snake. The false water cobra was pretty difficult and bit me all the time so I am pretty used to pain especially with 8 different monitors.

How about a rainbow boa...or an amazon tree boa. The amazons like to bite which makes things very interesting!

I would suggest one or more corn snakes. They're easy to take care of, don't get too big and come in many colors. Right now I have four. They're easy to breed, and watching the eggs hatch is a fun experience. They're good feeders and do well on frozen rodents. I also have two ball pythons, but the corns are my favorites.

jen nice white lipped pythons they yours ? if you want a colubrid but not a corn i would say a taiwan beautie they get pretty long and can be nasty. i had a feamle that was like 6 feet and loved to bite, if you would like any boas or pythons and you want something thats alittle more aggressive i would go with an amazon tree boa like someone else said i have 5 atbs and only ones doesnt try bitting. or you could try a scrub python they get pretty big and are aggressive sometimes..

Colubrids aren't challenging by nature, if you want a challenge, get a small boid. Like a children's python, a dumeril's boa, rainbow boa...something different. Because lord knows corn snakes are duller than crap to own compared to the more attractive, active, and intellegent boidae family.

Get a kenyan sand boa...way cooler than a milk or corn snake...ours are very docile and friendly....you said preferably a colubrid but I like boas better so that is my suggestion...good luck..we are reptile owners and always adding new members to our zoo :)

i own many snakes, for you i would prefer a red tail boa they love to be handled but don't buy one and leave it in the cage and then three months go by and you want to pick it up you will get bit.

I got one for you. It's not a colubrid, but it is notorious for its beauty and bad attitude. Try to get a captive bred if you can.
