It's because there really is a dying dragon in your coffee pot! Quit killing it with scalding hot water! For love! You dragon killer!!!!

This is quite normal but your coffee pot may be very old as well if not old if you have hard water run some CLR through the machine then rinse good with water atleast five times just to clean the gunk out, another tip use bottled water to make your coffee it will increase the life span of coffee maker and will taste better.

It is simple, Yes ? the heating element heats the water and it is forced up thru a tube, like the old style perculater coffe pot.when the water resivor is empty, the remaining water in the heating element suddenly vaporizes or steam and the remaining water in the tube above the heating unit, gurggles until all of the water is evaporated.

they all do, it is sucking up the last drops of water to send up the tube through the grounds and it gets a lot of air with the last bit of water.
