I would prefer to be rich whether I'm happy or not. Do you think poor people are happy. Do you think that when you are stressed out by where you will find money to do this or the other you are happy. I better be a billionaire and then deal with life in a different perspective. Not just rich people who get sick, marital problems etc this happens to everyone which means all people rich or poor are not 100% happy and don't expect to be in life.

Some of the happiest people I have ever met would be considered poor by most standards. Many very wealthy people I know are not happy at all. Many of them are far less happy than "ordinary" people. Some have the money to go anywhere but their "life" consists of eating and watching T.V. just like many who are poor.
You can be happy where you are right now with what you have right now. Feel thankful for all that you have and worthy of abundance. If you desire to go anywhere and try different styles of life set that as your goal, truly believe it is possible, have no concern for HOW that will be accomplished and it will happen for you.
Traveling does not require being rich. You can take a job on a cruise ship, work for a company that sends you around the world, join the Peace Corps - there are MANY ways to experience different places and different styles of life.
Happiness is a state of mind - not a location, an environment, or having any particular amount of money.

No, the intelligent have a better shot at happiness. The rich too often get hung up on petty issues that detract from having a good time. I have never been rich, but I have had much happiness. And still have happiness.

No way. To be rich you have to devote yourself to hard work and excellence in whatever you do. That means possibly being forced into an occupation which you have to reside in even though it may not be what you find the most enjoyable of things. The question is then also asked, what is the definition of true happiness? Can it be defined? I believe each person has something deep inside them that gives them happiness, and the only way to achieve it is to pursue it and not let anything stand in the way, including financial standings.

Yes, yes, and yes again! If a person has access to the finest of health care, more than adequate levels of clothing, food, and shelter, and freedom from economic anxiety, many factors necessary for the creation of happiness have been met. Millions of Americans don't have health insurance and suffer from lack of adequate care, much less being able to afford preventative health care. However, the weathly among us have a greater responsibility to avoid expensive vices which they, unlike the rest of us, can afford. Is this a key to the "unhappiness" which the poor dears in the rich set report that they are suffering? Isn't my heart just breaking for them? Don't I cry myself to sleep every night when pondering the plight of the "unhappy" rich?

Pretty much. They have the money to do what others can't. They have the money to go on Cruises, blow on Casino's, etc. They can visit countries like Japan and experience things I and so many others can not. The only real problem rich folk have is that they are more likely to be robbed or killed when traveling or hell, even walking outside of their house is dangerous. Hope this helped answer your question.

Honestly, I think money gets in the way of happiness. Yes, money is great. No one ever seems to have enough of it. But material possessions can never equate to true happiness. They get in the way and distract us from what we really have... Too many times I have heard people complain about not having their dream car, or cable TV loaded with options, or the trendiest clothes. But while they're busy complaining they're forgetting the fact that they even have a car, or can afford a television at all, or even still... what about family? When you get rid of all the fluff that money brings, you can really see what's important in life.

Yes, if they use it wisely they can travel most anywhere they want and not have to face each day by going out to another day of work but too many that are rich, seem to be so greedy that they try for more.

Rich people have a better shot at living affluent lifestyles. When people of affluence travel to different countries, they rarely experience what the majority of the indigenous people do.
