Has anyone heard about the glaisher that fell off Antartica that was about 43 miles long.So my friend told me about this a couple days ago and since then I've heard ppl talk about it.I also been online looking but cant find it thats why im heard to see if anyone knows.If you find the link send it to me @ bearith911@yahoo.com.thanks peace and love.

Ok, here's the actual facts. The story was reported on ABC's World News Tonight, so you can probably find it on ABCnews.com. What happened was a 41 mile long piece of ice shelf broke off of Canada in about an hour and a half. This event was unprecedented in recorded history and one more sign of global warming. I could go into more detail, but I'll just let you hear the report from Charles Gibson because he tells it better than I do.

took some doing, but I found it for you. I saw the story about it a while back, but couldn't find it again...so here's a link to another story. Actually, it wasn't in antartica...it was in the northern pole - in Canada. Many iceburgs break off in Antartica too, but this 41 mile one wasn't there.

BEV'S HAS A QUESTION IN GEOGRAPHY THAT ANSWERS THIS QUESTION YOU HAVE WHEN I WAS GIVING DETAILING THE 41 MILE PIECE BROKE OFF IN 2005~90%OF THE ICE SHELF THAT THIS WAS A PART OF IS GONE TODAY AS WHEN IT WAS FIRST CALCULATE IN MASS IN 1905 BY ROBERT PERRY AS A 3900 SQUARE MILE SHELF THEN AND AS I SAID 90% IS GONE TO DAY AND THE 41 SQ. MILE PIECE WAS 2005~
