first of all, you have to know that being urself is the best thing u can be. i think i'm in a similar situation as urs, and i often wonder if its b/c i'm too sensitive or b/c that's just how ppl are these days. but anyway, my friend gave me some advice & i think it helps. when u feel like someone has hurt ur feelings but u know that they didn't neccessarily mean to, then tell urself that that's just how they are & they really hav no intention of hurting ur feelings, they probably don't even realize they're doing it. & then, just choose to ignore or even better, just completely forget about it and move on. i know its hard at first, but it gets better. also, try finding a friend who is like u and really takes into consideration another's feelings :]

It's not so much a matter of right or wrong but more like incompatible. As an emotional person, you will have to look harder to find other emotional people than you would have, say, 30 yrs ago, because nowadays our society breeds these fast paced, "grab" mentality people with an Ipod in each ear who don't remember or care about feelings, either theirs or anyone else's. I personally think they are badly diminished by that and I have no use for such people. Love, and happiness both require feelings, and shoot, what else is there?

Hang in there emotional person - in my estimation you are worth your weight in gold.

Being emotional person is not wrong. But you have to control your emotions while you are with practical people who dont give much importance to others emotions, otherwise they can take advantage of your emotions. Better thing is to find a friend who can understand and give respect to your emotions and share most of your feelings.

I don't think there is any practical answer to say if showing emotions is bad. I would say be more passive on the simple emotions, just keep calm. Find more hobbies or work out. Keep your mind in shape and have importantly self control of everything and anything you do.

I'm emotional person too. Just be yourself!
Don't worry about what others think! There are
some that do take their emotions to the extreme
try to change anyone that's not like them and also there are those that are without emotion and think everyone should be like them. If we were all without emotion we may as well be robots! I think that's exactly what those without emotion will become Robots! Don't You?

you're in a tough situation and i feel like u often. you just have to save your emotions for your friends who will not abuse you. for people who are practical, you should act tough with them because you don't want to get walked over. be practical with those who are practical. but dont ever lose your emotions by always pretending to be tough. keep a diary. being emotional is a god-gift and very few people have it..it's a form of intelligence, in fact many tests measure EQ (emotional quotient) nowadays. best of luck! n dont worry too much!

You're right. Sometimes it feels like working around robots doing their jobs while I am screaming inside. I'm a hard a*s at work but I come home to my sanctuary and I cry at talk shows! I think that you need to put on a different hat for different situations (so to speak) while still staying true to yourself. It makes for a hard task, trying to keep the balance. It's how I get by anyway.

No one's really wrong in this situation. Everyone's got a different tone to their personality. Just because you're got an emotional one, and they have a practical one- doesn't make any of it wrong.

Hire a heavy to do your dirty work.

Did you see that last episode of Michale Moore's short lived TV show where he hired someone to fire all his staff because the show got cancelled and he didn't have the heart or guts to do it himself. And he filmed it. Oh, imagine that FILM EDITOR who had NO IDEA when he got that raw footage!
