W/D hookups means there will be a water line and what ever else you need to hookup a washer and dryer in the apartment. If it specifies that there is a unit, then they also provide the washer and dryer itself. It may be a stack able unit or separate. Also you need to know if the dryer hookup is gas or electric. Normally in an apartment it is electric. Sometimes you can choose to go with the owners appliances either included or for a fee, or opt to get your own. just ask the owner/manager about it.

"W/D hookups" means that there are the necessary spigots and outlets to connect your own washer and dryer, but the landlord most likely isn't providing the appliances themselves. You should check to see if there is a hookup for a gas-heated dryer, or only for an electric. That is, if you already own a dryer. "Unit" is just another word for "apartment."

This means simply that there are washer and dryer spigot connections available in each apartment unit. For some people this is a real selling point that will appeal to renters who may do a lot of laundry and prefer to do it at home.
