Yesterday I went to the Dr. and she did'nt check my cervix ( I have'nt had it checked yet) I told her that I was having contractions since early that morning. They lasted all day and got closer together and stronger. I was having them every 8min for like 40 sec. then they slowly went away. I've had them on and off today also. My back pain is almost worse than the contractions. Do you think I might start real labor anytime soon? Oh yeah.... I've lost some of my mucus plug also.

Please go to the hospital now you are going into labor. Don't wait I don't mean to scare you but it just recently happend few weeks ago at 9 months with contractions, discharge, back pain and ready to go to a friend of mine and her husband who decided to wait until later on because they wanted to wait until the right time so no learning nurse would practice on her and yeah right unfortunately they have expirienced the worst expectant parents nightmare. PLEASE GO NOW! I don't want you to later on regret it just like they are now. It is really weird that they have not checked your cervix, your doctor is supposed to. Take care.

*Well congrats, I assume that since you haven't answer back or post any comments it probably means that you are focus on changing diapers, breast feeding, and preparing formula.

I would asume this is the start. Id say just keep walking around, this helps speed things along and its what I did. When I was pregnant with my 1st and 2nd babies I thought it would be a long thing so I tried to sleep and rest as much as possible so I would have lots of energy but they ended up being long, when I went into labour early stages with my last baby I kept walking around and it really speeded things up, as the baby is pressing down harder. Just try to do things like making sure everything is ready for the baby, your bag is packed etc, keep your self busy. Write down your contractions and how far they are apart and how long they last for, also if they are stronger, so you can see if you are getting further along. Thats what I did, it gave me something to do. I dont think it will be long now giving everything you have said. I would advise not going into hospital until your contractions are about 5 minutes apart, regular and strong, as time seems to go slower in hospital. In your own home you can relax so the pains will not feel as bad. You could always, dare I say it, check your self to see if things are moving on. If you know your own body and will be able to see if you are dilating and roughly how much by, if you do this make sure you wash your hands before hand though. Good luck, it wont be long until you are holding your baby x

Usually doctors would check you if you lost your mucus plug.... but also doctors really want you to wait until you are having contractions that are like 5 minutes apart and really strong.... what you are having are the braxton-hicks contractions....oh hunny the fun has just begun!! Wait until you are in real labor.... you will know... GOOD LUCK GIRL!

the doctor should have been checked you if you lost your mucus plug. but then again its not an indication wether you will start your labor soon. but in my case when i lost my mucus plug, i go to labor and deliver my baby the day after. so you must go to your doctor and should ask for an internal.

You might I would suggest calling the doctor and letting her know you lost your plug. I find it really weird she hasn't check you for dilation yet.

I'd be ready to head to the hospital if I were you. And she should have checked your cervix! What a crappy dr!
