Live your life and don't worry about dumb things like that. When I was younger, I was all worried about nuclear war. I got so wrapped up in it that I didn't do much of anything. I figured why bother when we are all just gonna die anyway? That was 30 years ago and here we all are. What a waste of time. Even if the world were to end tomorrow, what good would it do to worry about it? None! Forget about all the silly predictions. The world will end (or not) when it is ready. Live your life to the fullest, have fun and don't look back.

Anyone's world can come to an end at any time- we can be killed in an accident, or our hearts can quit- but there is plenty of evidence that none of us here on Earth can predict the exact day that all humankind will die out. Indeed, it is written in Revelation that none shall know the hour or the day.
A prediction about a date's having importance can mean other things besides the end of the world. Here are a few relatively recent and soon to occur Hebrew calendar examples (years correspond approximately to academic years, roughly September to August):
Year (Meaning in Hebrew) Event
1936-37 (Murder) Many murderous acts
including Kristallnacht
(some scholars would
place this event as the
start of the Holocaust)
1988-89 (Rejoicing) The Berlin Wall came down
2029-2030 (Judgement) (?? Meaning unknown!!)
While lunar and solar eclipses actually are computable from calendar information (indeed, the very word "month" historically came from studies of the phases of the moon), predictions involving all of human nature are much more complicated, and require more than just knowledge of the calendar. Prediction of a lunar or solar eclipse is comparatively easy. Prediction of a war or other man-made catastrophe is not, especially if that prediction is made centuries in advance. Therefore, the best thing to do is to live each day as best you can, and do not worry about tomorrow, for today has enough worries all by itself. Forgive whatever wrongs have been done to you, and seek anyone you have wronged and ask for forgiveness, for you know not when the end will come for you- and nobody else knows when the end will come for him or her.
One of the best predictions ever made was the prediction about the time that the Second Temple in Jerusalem would be destroyed (see Daniel 9). That same chapter predicts the death of Jesus Christ to the year! Jesus Christ, when He taught in Jerusalem, predicted that althoug that Temple would be destroyed, and the city of Jerusalem would fall, it would be rebuilt in the proper time. That prediction was fulfilled in part in 1948. Jerusalem was returned to Israeli hands in 1967, again as predicted nearly two millennia earlier.
In John 3:16, Jesus stated more that relates to your question, about being scared, and not wanting to die. It states, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him shall not perish, bu have everlasting life".

No, the world is not going to end in 2012!! Everyone has their own ideas. Nostradomus predicted sometime in 3000. The sun is going to last for a few billion years yet. And as long as the earth has the sun, and if humans don't kill it, earth will be around for a long time to come. You are only 14, maybe your future could include work as an environmentalist so you can contribute to the greening of our planet. By the time you are ready to do that, the job will be a lot more challenging than it is today.

Not even the Mayans said that the world would end in 2012. The date is significant only because that is when the Mayan sun calendar completes its full cycle. Every time the Maya faced the "end of the calendar" they "simply" added yet another cycle, thus extending its "life." Chances are, if they were still around, they would have already figured out how to keep the calendar "operating" another 1000 years or so.

I wouldn't be so caught up in all of that. You don't even know if it's true nor do you know that you won't die before then. You can't live your life like that. This reminds me of my sister in laws in high school who read in a book by someone who had predicted earthquakes said the world would end, it didn't. But they thought because he had predicted other things, and the book was in the library all must be true. It passed and it wasn't.
Don't live your life worrying about when. Because there is little you can do about any of it. None of us may be here tomorrow.
Just be the best person you can, live life and take time to tell those you love how much they mean to you, when it all comes down how we treat eachother, what we do while we are here is all that really matters.

People have been trying to predict the end of the world since the beginning of time and they've obviously been wrong. If you believe in the bible, it says don't try to predict that stuff, go on with your life and when it's suppose to happen, it will. I wouldn't freak out about the year 2012. It will probably come and go just like all the rest of these boring years.

The world didn't come to an end in 1984,
it didn't come to an end in 6/06/06, and it
certainly won't end in 2012! You need to
get the facts right. Please don't start making
alarmist statements.
We have the technology today that the
ancient Mayans didn't have.
Maybe it's true that they had visitors from
outer space; but we can't prove it!
If you really want to know, continue your
education in the field of astronomy.
If and when you find the answer, please
let the whole world know. We will forever
be gratefull.
Ignorance loves what it can't understand.
