I accidentally made a "maximum bid" setting that was too hight ($350.00) on Ebay. I wont the auction unfortunately because it was only for another 30 minutes after this happened. I don't want to pay for this item. What will the reprecussions be, (if any), if I just dont pay for this item?

I understand that I get a strike ( OOOooo Scary)
Is there any REAL reprecussion, IE lawsuit or any other legal matter that happens? If not, a user can always just create a new Ebay account, correct?

you'll go to jail... jaja... NOT :) well the only thing that happens is that you will probably be left a negative feedback for not paying by the seller.... This is a thing you dont want to happen if you are serious about buying stuff from ebay... (or selling) because if you have negative feedbacks, people will think of you as a fraud and wont want to deal with you... But thats the worst that can happen.... get too many - feedbacks and your account will be terminated...... as long as nothing was stolen, or fraud occured, thats as bad as it can get...

You will have some time before the seller starts wondering about you paying. You will then get an email, saying the seller wants payment. If you do not respond within seven days, you will get an "unpaid item strike" against you. This is not really that big a deal. The only problem is you will not be allowed to bid on other items unless you put up collateral thru Paypal. I also remember from my unpaid item that after you have made other successfully completed transactions, the bidding restrictions will lift. I would suggest buying some more items between now and the seven days are up to boost your standing.

1st of all , just send the seller an legal email through ebay ,explain the situation .If they don't understand , all what they can do is report and leave negative feedback , then you may have to deal with ebay a little bit , like explain the situation to ebay . You r not going to jail since u have not stolen anything , and i don't think they gonna terminate your account if they know it was a mistake and you already contract the seller ,still you have not steal anything , so the penalty wont be too serious

Well...I believe you will be reported, and given negative feedback. The seller will report you to Ebay themselves. I would just email the seller and explain the situation, and go from there. I made the same mistake, but I wanted the item so it was ok.

No offense, yet why did not you imagine about this fee challenge and earlier you began bidding you money on the stuff? merely click on the seller's call and message each it truly is promoting the article you do not favor to kindly cancel your bid. more suitable than in all likelihood they are going to be great sufficient to cancel it for you

I would contact the seller and explain the situation. If they still demand a payment and you dont pay them, your ratings will go down and the seller might report you to Ebay and get you suspended

I made a mistake like that once. I thought it was American currency and it wasn't. I talked to the owner and he agreed to release me. Try that first. If they won't release you and you don't pay you'll get a strike against your account I think.

Then you'll get a negative score and when you decide to buy later the seller can refuse to sell to you

You made a legal contract. If you bid too high, you should immediately put in a stop explaining you made a mistake. If you don't you are a screw up.
