My friend says that Top Gun is the best movie ever, but I think its The Karate Kid. What do you think?

I wouldn't have imagined either as "the best movie ever".
I liked the action in Top Gun,..but I CARED about what happened to our lead character in The Karate Kid. And for me that's what makes a good story,..that I care.

Top Gun, hands down. Best music ever, its so good. The movies great, but kenny loggins "danger zone" and the theme song are ridiculuos. Top 5 Movies ever

top gun is better than karate kid. but there are far better movies then top gun.

Honestly I don't like either. The best movie ever is The Shawshank Redemption or Goodfellas.
