i'd find another dr. either that or you possibly misunderstood. the only way for a child to have the same blood type exactly as the father is if the mother has the same blood type. a baby's blood type will be a combination of the mother and father. if one has A and the other has B then the child will either be O or AB. no exceptions. since both the A and B types are paired with O, it's just not said with it.

no, it's not true and you should probably get a new doctor. blood type is made up through both the mother and father, true a baby CAN have the father's or it can have the mother's. blood type is a trait just like hair and eye color. the dominant type prevails so like you could be O+ and your husband could be A- and the baby would end up with the dominant combination (not exactly sure off the top of my head which at the dominant types though). but the dominance prevails with the type and with the rhesus factor (+/-) separately.

No not at all-the baby could either have the mom's or the dad's or a combo of both. For example my mom is B and my dad is A and I have AB. My sis has A and my bro has B. Now they could never have a child that has O. Thats why when they do testing for paternity the first thing they check is blood type -- they would take into account both parents types--if the babe had neither both parents types the guy was obviously not the dad.

I have not hear that before. I thought that a babys blood type is made up of the mother and father.

No I do not think that this is true, I have a baby and he has the same blood type as I do. I am not really sure how genetics works, but I do not think that the statement is true.

No. If it were then a man's children would all have the same blood type and my brother and sister both have different blood types than I do. I and it is abundantly clear simply by looking at us that we all have the same father!

Never have i heard that. i am RH- and i had to get the shot in my butt because we dont know until my daughter is born whether she takes after me and is RH- or takes after her father but i had to get the shot so i was on the safe side. cause of possibly our blood types are different.
so i think the physician you talked to is full of it
