From Canada: Had I known what university/college really was before I went in, I'm not sure I would have jumped in so quickly.
I have a theory that those who know what they want to do career-wise go the more focused, hands-on routes in post-secondary education: technical college, apprenticeships, etc. Those of us who hope that another four years (or more) will show us what our life's purpose is supposed to be go to university/college. I don't feel that university/college was a total waste, since I definitely fell into the latter category. But had I known that university/college is meant to teach theory and thinking rather than application, I might have tried working, travelling, or volunteering before going back for post-secondary.

I'm still in college, but I've overdone my stay. Six years in September, with a double major, and I still don't know what the heck I'm going to do when I get out. I do know that it is going to be awesome to get that diploma. It's a lot of work, but it's a huge accomplishment. It's something that requiered a lot of work, but was totally worth it.

I think college is over-emphasized as jobs are better learned by doing the work hands on.

I loved every minute of college, and now, it sure does look good on a resume. I am in Clemson, South Carolina.

Akron, Ohio.
Biggest waste of money for a piece of paper. Courses were not as indepth as they should be and too many inexperienced 'grad students' as teachers.
Oh well. At least I'm using the expensive piece of paper.
Best of luck!
