Nuno Bettencourt is one of the most underratted musicians out there...he's been doing solo stuff the last few years, but he used to be the guitarist in the glam rock band 'Extreme'.....if you get a chance listen to some of his stuff..he's amazing

the most less than-rated guitarist ever must be the late, large Danny Gatton, whom Guitar participant mag named "the international's magnificent Unknown Guitarist." Any specialist guitarist has heard the call Gatton and easily recognizes that none are worth. He might want to play all of it...jazz, rockabilly, rock, blues, united states of america. there's a stay album out that Danny did with Robert Gordon, which became handed round for years between guitar circles, who all agreed it really is going to be named "The Humbler," because each and every guitarist who heard this cat play became humbled. I consider Roy buchannan..yet another large determination...i'd also opt for to operate insects Henderson. so a procedures because the magnificent guitarists walking the face of the Earth on the instantaneous, it must be The Hellecasters...John Jorgenson, Will Ray and Jerry Donahue. untouchable through any shred heads the more youthful ones care to tutor. I even might want to bypass with George on both variations.

I'm going to get a lot of people rolling their eyes or yelling at me for this, but I honestly admire Ryan Ross of Panic! At The Disco. I have been with the band before MTV had ever heard of them, and I've always admired him. I honestly love his lyrics... how he's writing about things that have happened to him... the fact that he can face every thing he's gone through, good or bad, and write about it just amazes me.

You might not like country music, but if you're willing to give it a try, I would say Keith Urban and Brad Paisley.

I would also add Stevie Ray Vaughan, Ted Nugent and Prince to the list if you're more into a blues or rock sound.

The lead guitarist of Red Hot Chili peppers, he is so beastly but is pretty much overshadowed by Flea in all his bass-playing greatness. He really is a beast if you look at his tab, but kutless and jet are two pretty sweet bands

Like Northy said, listen to some Nuno.. But I didnt' think of them being glam rock, listen to one of Extreme's last CD's, "Waiting for the Punchline" it is quite hard rock, can think of a couple of songs: shadow boxing, Cynical, Naked, Hip Today, and more..
