Ignorance is not bliss for anyone except the ignorant. Maybe you should try to BetterYourself, as your name suggests.
Kieth Ellison was elected to be a CONGRESSMAN, not Governor. Most anyone who reads a newspaper knows he is Muslim and it is absolutely appropriate for him to be sworn into office using the book of his faith. He used one of this country's Founding Fathers. Koran. Yes, Thomas Jefferson was the proud owner of a Koran and the author of our Declaration of Independence. Those who wrote our constitution over 200 years ago are to blame, or I would say credit, for this honorable public servant using the book of his faith to be sworn in. I suppose you think of yourself as a patriotic American, but you are just one more bigot posting inflammatory nonsense. Muslims, Jews and Christians are all faiths of the book. We are all brothers and sisters, so wake up and start acting like a human being and a genuine American....Read your Constitution. Read your Bill of Rights. Read about the founding of this great nation. Read the guide book to your government; local, state, federal. Read the Bible, the Koran, the Torah, and read about Confucius, Buddha, Hindu, Tao, and other religions and philosophies. Read up on the history of the world. Read about the Civil War. Read about the Civil Rights movement. Read about Native Americans and the First Nations. There are too many people, too many Americans, who have never read or cared to learn about any of this, and it is to our peril. This nation will not stand if it does not live up to its principals, and a person's ignorance of these profound ideas is reprehensible.

I'm not from Minn, nor did I vote for him. However, his religious background should not have anything to do with him being a good person or not. It is different and the ill-informed will think less of him, but that is wrong.
Read about him and the great things he has done for the community. Being Muslim does not make you a bad person. Ignorance does though.

You should realize that he is not governor, he is a C-O-N-G-R-E-S-S-M-A-N! Did you realize that he sworn in on a Quran once owned by Jefferson? You know, and I'm taking a leap here, a freethinker responsible for the necessary seperation of church and state?
