It depends on your strengths and the way you visualize things. Biology tends to be a lot of memorization. Physics and Gen. Chem tend to be math based. Organic chemistry is fairly easy once you see the patterns. If you have a teacher or TA that is willing to explain things if you're confused and you're willing to actually do the problems to UNDERSTAND mechanisms not memorize them you'll do fine. There's always a nucleophile and electrophile...once you can recognize those and if you know basic types of reactions...it's a breeze. You can do good in anything if you try to understand the material rather than memorize it...especially o-chem.

Many Universities use O-Chem as their "weeder" course. The class that weeds out the less capable students at the sophomore level. It is challenging, and there is a lot to learn.
But have a look at the Bielstien catalog some time (it is huge - racks and racks in the library). Organic chemistry must encompass the vast majority of all chemical compound on the planet.
Whether you'll be good depends on so much... Will you have a good teacher? Will you search for and discover things about O Chem that excite you and encourage you? Will you put in the considerable effort to learn this subject? Do you have the aptitude to succeed?
My suggestion for success is practice synthesis problems for several hours each day, and then practice more synthesis problems.

Organic Chemistry is not easy. There is A LOT of information the has to be memorized on faith. Tests have tricky questions that fool you and are confusing, and you will be competing with both pre-meds, and physics majors; it's no picnic.
The laboratory - which is required, is a blast - but really pretty messy. You will to learn to recognize a lot of unusual (household) smells ( and be able to identify them chemically), and learn how simple tests are done to perform organic tests necessary for forensic and life sciences. experiments.
I say go for it. But study well, and stick to it, because this may be the hardest class that you will ever take in college. I majored in Organic Chemistry, by the way

Orgo is actually easier than general chemistry. Chemistry deals with a lot of mathematics, while organic chem deals with reactions, reagents, and products. While it may be daunting to memorize all of the fomula, I find that it is significantly easier and more interesting. Learning mechanisms of reactions is pretty cool, it's how the world works...

Organic chemistry involves learning molecular structures and reactions of molecules containing carbon atoms. It requires boths sides of your brain. The left cerebrum for logic and attention to detail and the right cerebrum for visual-spatial reasoning. You will need to learn dozens of different reactions and be asked about how to synthesize certain molecules. You will also need to draw and rotate organic molecules. I'm sure if you are doing well in biology, chemistry, and physics, you will do well in organic chemistry. It is quite different from those classes.

Ochem is hard. It doesnt matter if youre doing good in bio or phy. if you have the motivation and A LOT of time to study you will be ok. it's pretty tough so take it whenever you have an easier semester. good luck!
