Or more accurately, does "barely legal" porn contribute to pedophilia, or is it just another deviation of human behavior to have something that can't be attained?

Well, in a legal sense, if the model(s) is/are over 18, then the material is won't get you arrested.

But your second premise is the correct one.

Typically, the term pedophile has a connotative definition of sexual arousal over prepubescent females. This could be toddlers on up to ten or eleven year olds. Definitely a short in the wiring somewhere...

Whereas the barely legal material, that you speak of, is typically for the older guys. It harkens back to the younger days of "perfect" wrinkle-free bodies of the 16, 17, and 18 year old females of their youth.

Myself, I am a 50 year old male, and have since discovered myriad advantages of dating and associating with women over the age of 40. So much so, that I do my best to avoid any contact with any female under the age of 30.

I always have to laugh at that "barely legal" material. Regardless of how attractive one my find their physical attributes, there will be a time when actually you have to talk to them...

I think "barely legal" allows men who fantasize about those gorgeous teenage girls they can never have, to have something very close. As long as she's legal and consenting, there's no problem whatsoever. Although personally, I don't see anything wrong as long as she is consenting, regardless of her age (although I can understand why the law wouldn't want 50-year-old men dating ten-year-old girls. Ew).

I believe porn is created to reflect the fantasy, as opposed to causing it. As far as "deviating," there's no deviation from anything normal when human beings want what we can't have. That's what we want MOST. And once we get it, well, we want something else.

Barely legal porn doesn't make someone a pedophile. Going out and acting on the desire to seduce 14-year-old girls makes a pedophile (even if they're already fully grown, and even if they're consenting).

The line has to be drawn somewhere. By choosing to view above the line, you are no more of a pedophile than a viewer of any other porn.

Its one's personal likes. "Barely Legal" does not contribute to pedophilia in my opinion, but just what one person may like, as others may like different variations of pornography.
