like I know it's on top of the belly button but is it like in the middle?

the top middle of the navel is the best place to pierce. that way the ball of the ring will fall into the navel and not to the side of it where your clothes will rub against it and irritate it.

It is best to do the piercing through the top edge of your bellybutton in the midline of the body.
Of course I have seen people having done it at several places of the trunk of the body but most of them stick along the front midline.

it goes through the little bit of flappy skin on the top part of your bellybutton, so one end of it shows on the top and one shows in the middle. there are also some more unusual places to get your bellybutton pierced, such as through the side or at the bottom.
