The movie "Pretty Woman", starring the highly over-rated Julia Roberts, is about a street-walking hooker who is "vindicated" by finding love with a rich man. She is even insulted in one scene where Richard Gere says, "I never treated you like a hooker," and she replies, "You just did." Truth, she was a hooker!!! OK. If you liked this fairy tale, please explain it to me.

And, I imagined I was the only one who thought this movie was pure poppycock...!

The idiotic themes of this dumbo flick include (but are not limited to):

Anyone can be saved by love.

Prostitutes have hearts of gold.

Prostitutes are tall, gorgeous and healthy.

Rich men have plenty of time on their hands.

Julia Roberts is desirable.

Hello, it's a fairy tale! If you had been paying attention, she's looking for a Prince Charming to come and rescue her throughout the whole movie. You need to just watch it as that, and not try to analyse it as being "real life" which it was never intended to be. You're missing the point.

I hated that movie. A friend begged me to see it with her and she loved it and I just hated it. First of all I can't stand Richard Gere and Julia Roberts is no stunning beauty. Both of them had to have body doubles(that tells you something)

It was a crock because real hookers don't look like that! And there's no rich Prince Charming that's going to swoop in and rescue them from their miserable lives.

Every woman dreams to be rescued & every man longs to rescue a woman....there....that's it in a nutshell. Hollywood glamorized the story for us but it's just another Romeo & Juliet, except they don't die. I actually liked the movie, it was entertaining and funny. It was fiction but a real story for many of us.
