Throw it in an ants nest, boil it.

Three good ways: 1) Boil it until the flesh falls off. 2) Encase it in chicken wire and bury it in the ground for a month- the invertebrates will pick it clean. 3) Put wire around it, and place it next to an active ant hill for a week or so. or, some combination of the above. Be careful handling the brain, and be sure you wear latex gloves. You'll want to soak it for about 10 minutes in a 10% bleach solution afterwards to whiten it. Beef: actually it was an afterthought, realizing I had forgotten. I would caution though that bleaching more delicate bones too long (such as the nares of a deer) may damage them. A bison kull is much tougher, and can stand a week of bleach. With a smalle skull, I would bleach, then check progress, slowly, in 10 minute increments. I add the caution about the brains because there are some zoonotic diseases carried by deer that you don't want. Good luck- it should be beautiful when yuo are done.

The beetles are called "dermestid beetles" and they do an excellent job, but they are difficult to maintain so most people do not keep them. They also will eat anything (but bone) that is from animal matter (wool, leather, etc) so they are not great items to keep in your house. The best way is to boil using bleach as suggested before.

Boil it for a really long time, then mix up bleach solution for cleaning according to the directions on the bottle, soak it in that, then boil it again.

Boil it in a pot of water for about an hr. That will get most of everything....then a mild soap to clean any hard to get gunk. boiling it will take care of most of that though. Adding a little salt can help too.

Put it over an ant hill. Best method, has worked forever. By the way, bone does burn.
