there are some characters of man than are not understood by woman. one of them is the feeling of superiority. when a man hits a woman he is sorrounded by this special character of man. but when he feels the guilt he is overwhelmed by one of the soft feelings of women whch is better called "emotion". getting filled by this type of feeling the man apologise saying " i am sorrrrrry". the duel between these two feeling keeps a man switching between these two behaviour. i think you got it now.................

Its never okay to hit a woman. She has been in this relationship for 5 years, and this is the life she has come to believe is acceptable, you as her friend, need to help her understand that just because he says I'm sorry, it means nothing if he just does it over and over again.
She needs to report him for domestic abuse. At the very least she needs to talk to someone and get their professional opinion. 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) or TTY 1-800-787-3224.

But seriously, it's a control thing, I'll hit you and cause physcial pain to keep you in check, but down play the abuse w/ apologies. It's a mind game, and your friend has fallen for it.

They do it for different reasons, depends on the guy, not man, real men don't hit women. She stays and makes excuses for him because she's brain washed and thinks he loves her and he's probably convinced her that it's her fault. Someone that really cares about her would call 911 if they see or hear it happening.

He is called a batterer and she is manipulated and controlled by him. It's not her fault. She needs to talk to people that can relate to her. Get her talking to someone at a woman's shelter. Have her read "It's My Life Now".

Well either she likes being treated that way or she is too big a wimp to get out of the relationship. Either way there isn't anything you can do except be there for her when she needs a friend.

the man seems to be a maniac. PLEASE convince her that she may even be risking her life. If somethin happens to her even u wont b able to forgive urself.Encourage her to take a divorce.. Or else report to the police.
