The congress impeaches presidents.

It would be more harm than good to the country to impeach Bush right now... They need to take the high road and not go down to the Clinton impeachment levels.

Let him be a lame duck.

Ok, this may get a little long but stick with me. A member of the House of Represenatives will create a bill the will basically be the articles of impeachment. Any member can do this, in fact I believe Rep. John Conyers has. They just stick it in the hopper, and then it will go to a Committee (The Judiciary Committee most likely), where it will get holed up there, since up till today we've had a Republican Congress. The majority committee can always foul up things getting to the floor, gotta remember that. That's why Rep. Conyers bill hasn't made it past the committee state. Not to menton, now that Dems. are in control, it'll be easier to get the bill to committee, get the proper hearings done, and then essentially the "trial" before it heads to the Senate to see whether or not the president will be convicted.

Also, I believe Conyers and a few other Congressmen have been gathering up evidence to present in the Articles of Impeachment.

Today was the first day of congress more of a ceremonial day then anything else! There must be hearings etc to prove that he has committed impeachable acts. Then he needs to be convicted of these impeachable acts.
It's not a procedure that takes days. Sometimes it can take weeks and months.
Further more the speaker of the house already said President Bush would not be impeached.
Remember if Bush is impeached we are left with Cheney to head the country!!

First of all, President Bush has done nothing wrong. If you're talking about an "illegal war" and all that mess, well, Congress voted for this war, so they'd have to impeach themselves. Second of all, you've been bamboozled. They're not going to commit political suicide. Most Americans may not agree with Bush's handling of the war, but they don't want him impeached. Nanzi Pelosi, and the gang know this.

Congress Namely The House . It hasn't been done yet because the Republicans had control of congress until now The New Elected Democrats just took office today 1-4-07 Sp now the Republicans are the minority. Maybe just maybe the process of impeachment of Bush will start

The House votes on whether to impeach. If the House votes to impeach, the Senate conducts a trial with the Chief Justice presiding.

They haven't done so yet because there is no (or not enough) justification to impeach him.

Nancy the Speaker of the House starts the impeachment process. Didn't you hear what she said, there will be no impeachment. The president has not committed a single crime. Disagreeing with the presidents tactics is not enough for impeachment, he must commit a crime.

Bill Clinton was impeached but acquitted as was Andrew Johnson in 1868. If you are asking why Bush has not been impeached, it is because there is no grounds for impeachment.

Congress makes the choice. Why haven't they done it? President Bush has done nothing impeachable. If mispeaking or being perceived as being stupid were a criminal offense, a large section of the populace would be in prison.

I'm glad you don't make that choice. Bush has not
been impeached because, try as they might, they
can't come up with anything legitimate to impeach
him about. In other words, he hasn't done any
impeachable offense. What have you come up with?
